2026 - Day 2
Day two was absolutely fantastic. We started the day by having
breakfast in the Publico Resturant, which is attached to the Intercontinental Robinson
Quay. The breakfast was fantastic with a excellent selection, although sadly there was no
automatic pancake machine like the Hilton had. But they did have a 'make your won
eggs' section where a chef cooked your eggs to your liking right in front of you,
so that kind of made up for that!
They also had honeycomb where you scraped the honeycomb down to either
take with you or to extract the honey from it. I've never seen a honey dispenser concept
like this, and I thought it was worth a mention.
I thought it was quite interesting that most of the escalators on the
MRT had exposed wheels at the upper and lower ends, so you can see whats going on inside

We both bought some new shoes on Orchid Road and Anthony also bought
himself some cologne and a small personal fan. It turns out they are quite popular in
Singapre and we met a lady at the Gardens by the bay with the same fan. The fan is still
working well after our return to Perth. We will be returning again to pick up a few more
items.
Here is a view of Marina Bay Sands at night and the Merlion at night.
We decided to take a night river cruise along the Singapore River. It
was really quite good, and we got to see the light show at the Marina Bay Sands, along
with see the city at night! The river cruise was around $30 SGD per person, which I
thought was pretty reasonable.
